Ocean Eyes Tracklist:
I would just like to say a bit before you review this album: if you are planning on complaining about the electronic sound of these songs, or the auto tune, reconsider. The genre of the album is electronic, and the whole point of these songs is to sound slightly robotic. If you are not a fan of this genre of music, there is no need to give a bad review. (I am not saying that you should only leave good reviews. If you are not a fan of this album, and like other electronic music, leave a suggestion. But if you don’t like electronic music in general, don’t listen to the album-scratch that, just don’t buy it).
This album has been around for years and its still amazing! His song "Fireflies" is was got me into his music in the first place. I absolutly love the twists and turns each song comes up with muscially. All the little details are incredible and add up to pure perfection within each song. Each peice is layered with brilliant combinations of sounds and rhythms that work together very well. Adam Young is a genius.
FIREFLIES!!!!! VANILLA TWILIGHT!!!!!! ON THE WING!!!!! LOVE THEM ALL I LOVE THEM!!!! Your awesome owl city just keep on dreaming! This album is the best one in there but I do like the Orchestra album too! I just am so thankful that you guys made this band! I love it and keep on doing what you are doing! 😊😊
It’s good but it sounds robotic, now read past this. If you listen to fireflies in the part where he says the disco ball is hanging by a thread you can hear it dip like “the disco balling JUsT hAbGinG by a thread...”
The voices are very obviously auto tuned and sound almost robotic, and the songs all sound kind of similar. Has potential, but needs a little work. Try using less auto tune and branching out a little.
I like the songs. I didn’t buy them, and there is one reason why. HE DOESN'T SOUND HUMAN. No offense, I would buy the entire album. I’m just not into this kind of music where the person doesn’t sound human. I’m not trying to be offensive, I’m just telling you the truth.
This album is what made me start listening to Owl City back in 8th grade. Would recommend listening to this where it’s quiet and isolated for full album experience. Ex. By a window as snow falls, in your bedroom at 2am, on a walk through a park during a warm summer day.
