Last Night On Earth (Live In Tokyo) - EP Tracklist:
I love Green Day, my parents listened to it as I grew up and now when I hear Green Day it brings me a feeling I can't describe. This album though, I have to say, really shouldn't have been released. It's Great that Green Day wants to give more to it's fans but this is wrong. This is perhaps the worst of Green Day, what a short terrible concert. Part of 21st Century Breakdown, and all of Basket Case, are the only songs worth buying, but on their actual albums.
I love Green Day, infact they are the only good modern band. I as well thought that it was really weird that they did not put last night on earth in the album. That was weird! I am a classic rock fan and i will admitt Green Day is Freaking RAD!!!!!!
I've really enjoyed Green Day since first hearing "American Idiot" in 2005. I'd never heard a live version of "21st Century Breakdown" before Dec. 11, 2010, but when I did, it was TOTALLY AWESOME...
What makes Green Day's fanbase different from sports fanbase or any other large event? Have you seen Yankees and Mets fans in NY? If you did you would start ranting about them and leave Green Day alone, like you should! Green Day is awesome and no one needs a stuck up little brat to start a rampage on something that everyone loves because people are crazy. It's not iTunes fault! If you want to make this point, stick a sign on your forehead and walk out into Times Square. The internet is not the place for you. Get out of my head. You think that everyone who likes Green Day is a moron because you read 1 review with a few gramatical errors. I read that review, I did't see any, maybe YOU'RE the dumb one here..., I rest my case. People like you make me sick.
This EP is a good combination of new songs and older Dookie- era songs. Plus, Green Day is amazing!!! They're my favorite band and I'm seeing them live in Denver for the second time!! Yay!!
I think that this cd won't be as big as bullet in a bible. It does sound great because who doesn't love hearing a good band live but then again it's not just about the sound it's also about the message it sends. So even if it wasn't live it should get the same review. Still, Greenday rocks and always will!! Rock on Billy Joe!
I love green days live albums. Sadly most of them are only available in other countrys. I have a copy of bowling bowling parking that i got in dubai wen i was there for the summer. But i dont get why this is called last night on earth EP when last night on earth isnt on it lol
It's hard to take those who criticize this EP - or band, for that matter - seriously. Why? Because near everyone of you can't form a complete sentence or show any form of conscious thought. I mean, emo? Seriously? You must not even know what that term means if you're pinning it to this band. From what I assume, it's you're interpretation of how they dress instead of a reflection on the music, and if you're criticizing a MUSICAL ARTIST for how they dress, then you shouldn't be allowed to listen to music in the first place because you have no idea what you're talking about. I guess I could call you an "emo wannabe" because you can't spell a grade school word correctly. As far as the EP itself, it's not the greatest compilation I've ever seen. It doesn't deserve 5 stars (more like 3, but any review that isn't a 5 or a 1 tend to get overlooked). I've heard and seen must better live performances of these songs and this EP just doesn't do those songs justice. The highlight of this compilation is Last of the American Girls.
Even if all of Green Days fan base are ignorant, pathertic mornos, this isnt about their fanbase. Its about their music. To not recognize that is quite ignorant on your end. Im a huge Green Day fan, always have been, and have a Masters degree. Am I one of those morons? This isnt a message board, pal, go whine about us "idiots" somewhere else. Great live performance, ive seen them live and feel theyre better live then studiowise, which is saying something, because theyre awesome when theyre not live.
I'm a big Green Day fan, but I think many people would agree with me that this isn't their best live work. The crowd didn't really seem into the performance, and the sound quality isn't exactly fantastic. I say if you're really into Green Day, go for it. However, I recomend that you preview the tracks first to ensure that you like it. Lastly, to all you Green Day haters out there, all I can say is, you need taste in music.
When they first came back and performed live, they sucked in my eyes. Now they released this, and it is THE best live album by them EVER! It even tops them from Bullet In a Bible and back in the days of 1,039. GREAT ALBUM!
First off, I love Green Day with the bottom of my heart. I'm sixteen, and when I was five, my parents started playing Nimrod and Dookie in the car rides, one of their greatest parental decisions. I have seen them in concert twice, and loved each one. But, I do not like this album as much as I love all their others. This one's sound quality doesn't seem up to par with the rest, but that could just be me. The crowd doesn't seem as enthused as maybe others I've listened to, i.e. Bullet in a Bible, but I doubt any crowd could top that.
Let me know when you find one band that does not have ignorant fans. Oh, and by the way it is ignorant of yourself to asume that all Green Day fans "don't even try to use good grammar". I think that most of the Green Day fans will agree with me that you are the ignorant one.
I heard Green Day live this summer at Madison Square Garden and I thought it would just have to be a memory of how awesome they are. But then they come out with this, and suddenly I'm right back there screaming out the words to American Eulogy. Kudos to Green Day - theyv'e done it again!
i got the honor of watching them perform in philadelphia on july twenty-first this past summer. i can quite honestly say that they have one of the best live acts around. they really interact with the audience, bringing us up to sing longview and demanding that we stage dive. billie is a wonderful frontman, and tre, mike, and jason are great supports. this ep brought me back to that night, and i'm so hapy it did. any green day fan would love this. it's like you're right there, watching them again. and for only five bucks? you gotta get it!
Well, I grew up loving The Beatles, reading everything about them but having been born in 1965, I never witnessed the excitment that they caused and never thought that I would see another band as exciting until Green Day. Dookie didn't much speak to me but I loved Basket Case and On The Wagon and when Hitchin' a Ride came out it was so clear how much they grew musically. It's been wonderful following their carrer and their growth and so much fun reading the interviews and watching them explode again with american idiot and keep going strong with 21C - they are incredible live and will go down in history like The Beatles, The Who, and The KinKs - no matter if their fan base can spell or not. Green Day ruleZ!
THEY ARE AWSOME. I HAD THE HONOR TO TALK WITH THEM FOR A WHILE IN HOUSTON TX. THEY WERE SO VERY NICE AND FUNNY JUST DOWN TO EARTH. LOVE YA GREEN DAY HOPE TO SEE Y'ALL SOON, TX LOVES YOU. GOD BLESS.
I am a big Green Day fan myself, and I find your accusations of me and other fans like me terribly ignorant. If all you do all day is sit around writing accusatory and stereotypical reviews that you know will tick people off....please, please get a life. Seriously. P.S. Do a spellcheck on this review. Tell me if you find anything wrong with it. I'm serious.
Just because you're clearly a little cranky today doesn't mean you're better than the rest of iTunes. Who cares if you call this an EP or an album? And also, you yourself managed to write a review of something without mentioning the subject of the review at all. Classy. Regarding the EP, this is a good collection of live Green Day tracks. A nice mix of modern and classic Green Day tracks, this small collection is a great addition to any Green Day fan's library. However, if you're just starting to get into the band, I personally wouldn't reccomend this EP as a starting point. The vocals are clearly strained on 21 Guns, and, personally, the album versions of the songs always stick to me more. Nonetheless, a great little EP for the Green Day fan. Last of the American Girls is a personal favorite of mine, and I'm glad to see it here.
green day is amazing at how many great songs they can make one after another. and also the person who wrote the review that was insulting to green days fanbase, your probably just some old guy who thinks that green day is "too loud" or something like that, so nobodys probably going to listen to you.
I just LOVED Sighs comments! It's so cool when somebody can pick out the flaws in others. Some call them critics. Most call them something else! Green Day is a great band, period and there isn't any good argument there. Their lyrics are relevant and they have kept themselves that way throughout their career. Ever evolving, much like the Beatles did. Whether or not they are as good as the Beatles is to say whether or not Apples are better than Oranges. It is completely the listeners opinion and although I grew up in the Beatles era and agree there will never be another band like the Beatles, it is very easy to see that Green Day could be considered by many to be this generation's Beatles. Just like Sigh could be considered by many as this generation's Archie Bunker. And as far as mis-spelled words go, I think we are all kind of the product of (and slaves of) the auto spell checker! I am TERRIBLE at spelling without the spell checker, so Sigh, when you read this (and you will because people like you always look back at what comments are made after theirs) I apologize in advance for the spelling mistakes. Oh, by the way, I just checked the top 100 selling ALBUMS on iTunes and by God if I didn't find Last Night on Earth Live in Tokyo at #50. Go figure! How the hell could iTunes make such a mistake! Better write them next and let them know it is an EP! Peace!
See, I've been a GD fan since "American Idiot"(yes, I was one of those bandwagon fans) and I've been one ever since. What sealed my fandom was the "21st Century Breakdown" album. Now as for the "Last Night On Earth" EP, you might as well buy the "Bullet In A Bible" live album. This EP sounded like the crowd wasn't that excited at all, especially on "21 Guns". At least the crowd from Britian was more involved. That doesn't mean that this EP is bad. It's pretty good, especially if you've wanted to hear GD live. Get this EP, then go buy "Bullet in a bible" and put them together. THAT'S a Green Day show.
first let me say, green day is my faverit band. i was lucky enough to see them live in hamilton over the summer they were my first concert so i cant ligitimetly compair them to other live bands. even so, i was surprised at how well green day was live. i would see them a hundred times again if i could. great ep i'm definitly buying some of these songs. (sorry for my spelling)
this is such a good band its soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
21st Century Breakdown - Great song, also good live Last of the American Girls - Good job live on this one 21 Guns - One of the EP's high points. Definately get this one American Eulogy - Great song live Basket Case - Great 1994 classic. Good live Geek Stink Breath - Tre Cool takes this one a little fast. Great classic from '95 Over all, this EP is worth buying. No, its not a full live album, but if you are a Green Day fan, I suggest buying this
I am sick and tired of hearing "oh their sell-outs" get over yourself just because they signed a fricking record deal. I swear I want to punch everyone in the face that thinks they are sell outs. People don't realize that if you dont get signed, nobody is going to know about you or care about you. Signing a record deal gets popularity if you are good. They are great and easily the most influential band in the world. They are going down in rock and roll hall of fame. Do you think ac/dc would be as famous as they are today if they hadn't signed a record deal?!? Green Day is Green Day. It's music if you don't like it, shut up and get over it. Don't say they aren't "punk" because of making alot of money and getting popular. Punk is a style of music and they have revolutionized it.
they have so many great songs and they are the best band to see live. if you haven't had a chance to see them go as soon as possible or your life will be incomplete! I LOVE GREEN DAY!!!!
