I think we were all worried about how anything could follow E•MO•TION and Side B, but honestly Dedicated is just as good if not better in my eyes. The stand out songs like “Julien” and “Want You In My Room” REALLY stand out, and some of the less popular songs from the album have grown on me and become favorites in the last few months! I can’t wait for Dedicated Side B to hear what else Carly has in store for us!

Carly Rae Jepsen has crafted back to back masterpieces, as far as I’m concerned. ‘Dedicated’ packs a wallop of emotions, and sonically it delivers. Carly sounds equally at home on heartbreak ballads or empowering bops .... and each song seems to get more and more interesting. Really impressed with this one

All of the songs sound generically the same. Same poppy EDM music that I can tell was put together using a keyboard. Good music, but I expect a whole lot more out of the singer who made the bops Cut To The Feeling and Call Me Maybe.

I love Carly in general and most of her songs, but I feel like most of the songs on this album have no catchy beat or hook to them.

Out of 15 tracks, there are 3 songs: I’ll Be Your Girl, Party of One, and then everything else. The music itself is so formulaic, using the same four or five notes and chords and beats, over and over again, which are then interspersed with plain goofy use of auto-tune (even goofier since Carly can actually sing). Not one track ever makes it off the launchpad, unfortunately, which is the complete opposite of the soaring ballads of Emotion that I could just put on repeat. CRJ is so talented, so magnetic, and I adored Emotions and was so impressed with how it impacted pop music. This is not anything remotely like that. I’m disappointed in my fellow gays! Why are we settling for a C+ follow-up to that magnificent album? Just admit it’s a C+ release so we can all move on and eagerly anticipate her next work.

This album hurts...but in a very good way. It flows and pulls you in all different directions...the music is unpredictable, simple but very complex at the same time. The soul of the musician shines through...Carly is one of the most modest pop stars and probably won’t ever get the recognition from the masses as she deserves but the followers know better! This is an amazing album on every level, great love songs, great songs about the confusion of love, and deep songs about emotion and longing. The art is inspired from 80s pop tunes but has a unique vibe and soul of its own. Get it now! Pop album of the year!!!

I have to say, this is a great cd from beginning to end. I don’t understand why radio doesnt play more of her songs. Drug Like Me and Now That I Found You are phenomenal. No fillers either. AND no overloading with guest stars, just Carly and some killer beats on every song! 👍
