Beaches (Soundtrack from the Lifetime Original Movie) - EP Tracklist:
I love this song but the problem is it reminds me of my principal mrs earl she passed away when I was in third grade and it makes me cry but other than that I love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😻☺️😻😻😻😁😁😁😁😁😁😖😢😭
Idina has done it again in my book! Yes she sings wind beneath my wings but it's very different from Bette midlers and I think it's a great way to let a new generation of people hear the song and see the movie and Bette gave her blessing and Idina looks up to her. So she knows she's not trying to upstage her. Give the new versions a chance people. They are amazing!!
The music is beautiful, and Idina wrote one of the songs herself. The way she sang Wind beneath My Wings was different from the Divine Miss M. They both slay that song in different ways. Whole new generation will appreciate this movie for the love story that it portrays.♥️
I usually do not rate but...as I discovered the soundtrack and tested the theme song...an expression of disgust and disappointment immediately occurred. I was soooo excited to hear the remake and hope it would sound as pure as Bette's. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I honestly hope the remake movie will be better!
Listen to the clips, and you'll hear how horrible this is. Midler's version of "Wind Beneath My Wings" left room for improvement, but Idina's version is just plain horrible. And "Glory of Love"? She sounds drunk. Avoid at all cost.
The strength of the original track wasn't solely based on the vocalist's talent, but reinforced by its heart. This newer rendition is selling the quality of the writing extremely short. "Wind beneath My Wings" now has a electronic-pop feel to it. I get that the composer wanted to 'update' the style, but it seems cheesy. The vocals are spot on, but laughable because of the music. This song should carry emotion and make the listener feel like they're connected with someone on a deeper level, not as if they're sitting next to a ball-pit at a child's birthday event.
Why are there so many reboots and remakes these days? Is Hollywood in short supply of fresh ideas? There was no need to redo Beaches. These arrangements sound cheesy and contrived, and the only thing they accomplish is showing that this remake was so unnecessary. Look up the original Beaches soundtrack instead. It's quite good.
So many songs left out from the original. That's disappointing to me. Idina is, of course, fantastic, but there's so many songs I was looking forward to hearing done by her from the original. I don't care for the Wind Beneath My Wings. It's sung beautifully, but the music itself ruins it for me. Now, her "Glory of Love" is probably one of the best I've ever heard. I wish they would have made more music from the original, which means it won't be in the film. Oh well.
Why remake a Classic & why Destroy the Songs!!! Glory of Love sounds like she is Singing at the same time as Sucking on a Gob Stopper & Wind Beneath my Wings sounds Terrible both Vocally & the Arrangement!!! Top Tip, just buy the Original Soundtrack Kids
As a lifelong Beaches fan, I was excited to hear about the remake. When I saw the commercial and heard this in the background, I started crying my eyes out instantly. I love this song already!!
I was glad to hear Idina (if anyone) was doing this part but what did they do to the song? What is that weird electronic music in the background??? Ruined a classic song. Not needed to be updated and should have been sung straight out as a ballad without terrible noise in the background. Disappointed.
It is hard to touch a classic Bette Midler favorite. But Idina has the uncanny ability to sing a song and make it her own. It's a great touch to just put very little music behind her singing because her instrument of her beautiful voice always rises to the top. Thank you IDINA!
